Central U.S. December CPI was an increase of 0.5% record high of one and a half

U.S. Department of Labor January 14, announced in energy prices rose, driven by December's consumer price index (CPI) rose 0.5% qoq increase since June 2009 reached a new high.

 Excluding volatile food and energy prices, core CPI in December edged up only 0.1%. December's 4.6% rise in energy prices, an increase since the June 2009 record high. Gasoline prices rose 8.5%, fuel prices rose 4.9%. Utilities prices rose 1.4%.
